In the past six weeks, new daily cases have declined!
From 20 September 2020, our country went into a level 1 lockdown. In essence, what this is meant is that the curfew start time has been pushed from 10:00 p.m. to midnight and continues to 4:00 a.m. In addition, gatherings are allowed up to a maximum of 250 persons indoors or 50% of the capacity to a maximum of 250.
In many respects, the level one lockdown o remains similar to the previous lockdown levels. There will still be not night vigils, no international sports events, no spectators at sporting events and no initiations. In addition, there will continue to be public transport exclusions, limited air travel, funerals will be limited to up to 100 persons.
At Malcolm Lyons and Brivik Inc, we view this as a step in the right direction. We have weathered the worst of the epidemic as well as the economic devastation of that last six months. We have as a country weathered the hard lockdown which only eased late April into level 4 lockdown restrictions.
At MLB we have been able to service all of our existing clients and in addition onboard new clients during this period. We have had to review technology requirements and match these up to current demand. In addition, we have had to innovate in the manner in which we reach out and communicate with our clients so as to remain in constant contact with each.
We are pleased to report that despite the difficulties and despite the limited hours available in a day due largely to the roster which we put in place to protect our own employees as well as our clients, we have been able to continue to provide our usual uncompromising level of legal service.
Should you have any queries be they employment or labour related, or alternatively you have been injured either in a motor vehicle accident or medical setting, please do not hesitate to contact our offices.
We remind everyone that despite the move to level one lockdown, we should all remain vigilant and comply with the rules and regulations set out by the health department and supported by the government.
